Conversion of a Grade II Listed Barn

Conversion of a Grade II Listed barn to provide additional residential accommodation in the Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire area

The works involved the installation of a ground source heat pump and underfloor heating with extensive ground works and the use of sustainable materials such as sheeps wool insulation, wool fibre boards with lime plaster.

Extensive repairs to the oak frame were undertaken using green oak and traditional joints.

A mezzanine floor was constructed supported with a steel frame with oak flooring, glass balustrades and accessed by oak staircases manufactured in our joiner’s shop.

Bespoke windows, window seating and a log store were installed together with a log burning stove.

The barn was fitted with modern services, Lutron mood lighting system, data, AV and ‘I’ Life music system.
